Can acupuncture help with...?
A lot of people ask me, can acupuncture help with . . . ?
And I absolutely love this question partially because my answer usually is EVERYTHING. Okay, maybe that is a little extreme, but acupuncture can help and support you in so many ways for a variety of different conditions.
A lot of people associate acupuncture with pain- and for good reason! Acupuncture has been shown to decrease inflammation and increase the release of endorphins (hello, feel good hormones!). Endorphins are released in other interesting times, like when we exercise and they generally make us feel really good.
But, acupuncture has also been shown to be helpful in treating a lot of different conditions. It can help decrease inflammation, regulate the endocrine system, promote blood flow, lower blood pressure, and drop cortisol levels (the hormone often associated with stress). Even the World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as a suitable treatment for a multitude of different conditions! How amazing is that?
I absolutely love treating digestive issues, stress, anxiety, depression, seasonal allergies, and thyroid disease. And the best part, acupuncture excels in these areas. Here are some specific areas (among others!) that acupuncture could be beneficial:
Digestive issues (IBS-D/C, Crohn’s symptoms, bloating, gas, abdominal pain, acid reflux, diarrhea, chronic and acute constipation)
Emotional/psychological symptoms and conditions (stress/panic attacks/depression/anxiety)
Thyroid disease (Hyper/hypothyroidism, hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease)
Seasonal allergies (runny nose, itchy eyes, chronic congestion, sinus inflammation, mold/pollen/dust/mites, colds/flus, asthma)
Women’s health (painful periods, fertility support, lack of menstrual cycle, endometriosis, menopause symptoms, UTIs, pregnancy and labor support)
Pain (tight shoulders/painful neck/low back pain/sciatica)
Other conditions that can include insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lyme disease, MS
