Spring

We are transitioning into spring.

The Wood element becomes dominant in the spring. All of the hibernation, storage, and rest that we have taken in during the winter becomes the explosive energy of the spring.

The spring is more Yang in nature. There is more energy, more sunlight, more warmth. Things are born in the Spring and the Wood element particularly focuses on growth and expansion outward. That can look like personal growth and expansion or even just growth that you see in nature (like the flowers emerging).

But, as we transition into the spring, that energy can build up before it is released. You may find yourself more overwhelmed, anxious, or even irritable. You may also notice that others are the same. You may find yourself needing to move more, expand outward, be outgoing, or be creative.

While our society emphasizes New Years Resolutions, I have personally found that the spring is best time to implement these goals. The Water element that rules the winter is ideal for self-reflection, but the Wood element is the agent of change and growth. So, revisit your resolutions from the beginning of this year.

Welcome to the spring energy!

Transition and change are coming.
